Nail Technician course prepares students for positions as professional nail technicians:
SENTIAL (400 Hours) and ADVANCED (600 Hours) programs offered
- Theoretical concepts of nail care, nail grooming and basic nail artistry
- Practical clinical procedures
- Clean, shape, and apply polish to fingernails and toenails
- Apply artificial nails, nail tips and nail wraps
- Nail art - produce unusual effects using airbrushes and three-dimensional ornaments
- Instruction in employability skills
- Preparation for the state licensing examination
Nail Technicians:
- Do most of their work while seated at a manicure table with their arms resting comfortably on the table
- Should not be allergic to the products used to create artificial nails
- Work with all kinds of people and need to be tactful and diplomatic
- Benefit from creativity and an artistic flair
- Require sales skills to promote both their services and the products they offer
With a good clientele, both self-employed nail technicians and salon employees can earn a good income. Success depends on skill and the number of clients they can serve in a given time. Average salary for a licensed Nail Technician, according to the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) is $33,148
