The Michigan College of Beauty 2010 Hair show was a great success!

Michigan College of Beauty held its 9th Annual Hair Show on March 14th, 2010.

The event gave our highly creative students a chance to showcase their incredible work on live models to a standing-room only crowd in the Monroe High School Auditorium. Estimates put the crowd at over 300 people. With over 50 gifts from local area sponsors awarded to those in attendance, the student competitors weren’t the only ones to walk away from the competition with prizes.

For many students, the annual hair show is the culmination of many months work at MCB - and a chance to show what they can do to an admiring audience of peers, family members and prospective employers. Students competed in six categories.

The categories, with their respective top finishers, are as follows:

Creative Color:

1st Place: Leah Carney

Runner up: Meaghan Alexander

Elegant Evening:

1st Place: Jessica Sawicki

Runner up: Amanda Hickey

Men’s Sculpting:

1st Place: Christina Schopper

Runner up: Alexandra Worthy

Bridal Make-up:

1st Place: Dima Okso

Runner up: Alexandra Worthy

Team Avante Garde:

1st Place: Lori Ann Humphrey, Amanda Rappuhn and Leah Carney

Runners up: Billy Sancrant, Haley Thompson and Taylor Kasten

Finally, this year MCB gave prospective students the opportunity to compete for scholarships by taking part in an Elegant Evening Amateur Category. Congratulations to top finishers Leslie Horn and Kayli Cameron, who will each receive a scholarship to attend Michigan College of Beauty!
